Diego's family has a long history of cultivating Arneis grapes in the Roero region, originally for family consumption. About 7–8 years ago, Diego transformed the family’s winemaking approach by starting to bottle Arneis. Around the same time, two family friends in the Barolo region offered Diego the opportunity to make wine on their Serralunga plot, near the prestigious Vigna Rionda. Despite the land's appeal to top wineries, it had been promised to their grandmother to remain unsold. In 2018, Diego planted vines there and produced his first Barolo and Langhe Nebbiolo in 2020
